The Top 26 Countertop Styles of 2026
May 26, 2026
Updated for 2026, this guide follows the same pattern we started last year: a ranked look at the countertop styles homeowners are paying the most attention to right now. In 2025, we covered the top 25 countertop styles. For 2026, we’re covering the top 26. Yes, this means we may be morally obligated to cover the top 87 styles in 2087. Please plan your remodel accordingly.
As you can imagine, here at CountertopSmart, we know our stone. We also know that certain countertop styles keep showing up in searches, quote requests, showroom conversations, and “I want something light, but not too white, but also warm, but not yellow” debates. A classic genre.
Following last year’s format, we’ve updated this article with the most popular countertop styles of 2026. Some are returning champions from the 2025 list. Others are new additions that earned their spot this year, including warmer quartz designs, darker natural stones, Taj Mahal-inspired surfaces, and a few styles that prove homeowners are not done with white countertops. They are simply getting pickier about them.
For each style, we’ll break down what makes it popular, what kind of kitchen or bathroom it suits best, and which cabinet colors help it shine. Prices below are cached starting installed prices from CountertopSmart’s current pricing data, rounded to the nearest dollar. Final pricing depends on your location, selected slab, thickness, finish, cutouts, edge profile, demo, and the final laser measurement. Translation: countertops are beautiful, but they are not simple little rectangles. Rude, but true.
One note before we jump in: Black Soapstone appeared twice in the first pull of the 2026 report. We removed the duplicate appearance and added the next most popular style to keep this as a true top 26 list.
